Today's Boat rental

Today the rain held off mostly despite the 40% chance of rain. The ocean was beautiful this morning. 0-1 ft waves making perfect for snorkeling. I had a family of mom and dad with 3 young kids (boys) on vacation from San Diego who wanted to see the reefs and fish. We moored up in Pompano Beach and snorkeled the second reef most of the morning. We saw Parrot fish, Angel fish, Porgies, Tangs and some baby yellow tail snappers to name a few. The visibility was great when the sun came out from the clouds.
I picked up the afternoon group and we had to dodge the rain coming from the north. We went for a boat cruise to Ft. Lauderdale where we stopped at Laudy Lagoon sandbar. This is a local sandbar in Ft. Lauderdale by the city just off Las Olas Boulevard. They partied there until we had to head back to Pompano Beach where I dropped them off. It was a great weekend on the boat considering it was supposed to be a washout all weekend. We were able to get all 4 boat rentals out on the water.

Dodging the rain today

Today was an interesting day on the boat. I saw the best of Florida weather as I usually do this time of year. It seems to be rainy season is here. The morning charter had the best weather for the day. There was no rain in the morning. We took a cruise to Boca Lake sandbar and relaxed there for most of the day. The group wanted to do some sightseeing so we drove through the beautiful million dollar homes in Boca Raton as well.
The afternoon boat rental we cruised through Lighthouse Point where the weather started to take a turn. Before the rain started we turned around and headed back towards Pompano Beach. We ended up going out to the Atlantic Ocean through Lighthouse Point Inlet. We moored up to a buoy and snorkeled for about half an hour. With the waves being 1-2 feet with the occasional 3 foot rolling through one of the girls was getting seasick so we packed up and headed back in to the intracoastal. We ended up anchoring up in Lighthouse point at one of the intracoastal beaches and hanging out there the rest of the boat rental. I dropped them back off at the dock that evening for another successful day on the water. Both Boat rentals got their full 4 hours with no rain. I look forward to tomorrow.
